In this tutorial we will show you how to Disable the Wandering Trader mob from spawning within your server using a gamerule command. The Wandering Trader is a passive mob that spawns near the player to try and sell items.

  1. Head over to your server Console or enter into your Minecraft Server.
  2. Enter the command /gamerule doTraderSpawning false (ensuring to keep the upper case letters). This will prevent the Wandering Trader and his Llamas from spawning. Similarily, do /gamerule doTraderSpawning true to re-enable the trader from spawning. Please note that these commands are case sensitive.

  3. That's it! The Wandering Trader is now disabled and he will no longer show up at your base uninvited.
